Promotions & coupons
From time to time Picora runs promotions — a welcome giveaway for new accounts and promo codes that add bonus time to a plan purchase.
Welcome giveaway
When a welcome campaign is running, new accounts are automatically entered when you register. Depending on the campaign you may win a plan reward — a one-time invite code for a plan (with a set duration). If you win:
- A notification appears in your bell with the code.
- Open it and go to the Activate page.
- Enter the code to apply the plan.
Winning codes are time-limited (typically 30 days from when you win), so redeem promptly. Not every entry wins, and each account is entered once per campaign.
Promo codes (bonus plan time)
Promo codes grant bonus months — extra plan duration added on top of a subscription purchase. There are two kinds:
- Public codes — a single shared code for a campaign (e.g. shown on a banner). Use it directly at checkout.
- Private codes — a personal code you claim for yourself. Once claimed it’s valid for 30 days from the claim date (even if the campaign itself ends sooner).
Claiming a private code
On the Promotions page, an active campaign shows a Claim button. Claiming reserves a personal code (e.g. PROMO-A2B3-C4D5) and its expiry. You can only claim once per campaign.
Redeeming at checkout
- Start a plan purchase.
- Enter your code in the coupon field — it’s validated instantly.
- If valid, you’ll see the bonus (e.g. “+2 months”) before you pay.
- Complete payment; the bonus months are added to your plan once the payment is confirmed.
If a code can’t be used, you’ll see a single “code not found or expired” message. For privacy, the reason (expired, already used, wrong code, campaign ended) isn’t spelled out — double-check the code and its expiry, or claim a fresh one.
Notifications
Picora keeps you informed through the notification bell in the header. A red dot shows unread items; open the bell to see your message center.
Notifications fall into two kinds:
- Promotion — you won a giveaway, or a promo code was applied to your order.
- System — account and billing events, such as an upcoming plan expiry.
Each notification’s full text is stored in your language; some include an action link (e.g. straight to the Activate page). You can mark items read individually or clear them all. Developers can read the same feed via GET /v1/notifications and GET /v1/notifications/unread-count.
